CARVC Offering Pre-Conference Training Sessions in February 2025

Campground operators and staff invited to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for hands-on RV repair training, regardless of conference attendance.

January 6, 2025 – The Carolinas Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (CARVC) is hosting two hands-on RV repair training sessions ahead of its annual Conference and Expo slated for February 2025.

The training sessions will be held at Ocean Lakes Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a short drive away from the conference location. Attendance at the CARVC conference is encouraged but not required to take advantage of the pre-conference training sessions.

All information about the conference and training sessions, including online registration, is on CARVC’s website at www.campingcarolinas.com.

The Level 1 Tech Class is scheduled for Monday, February 3 to Friday, February 7, 2025. The 5-day class is presented by RV Women’s Alliance (RVWA) in partnership with the RV Technical Institute (RVTI).

Dee Witting, CARVC’s executive director, stresses that all genders are encouraged to enroll and attend this RVWA’s training session. “Any aspiring male and female RV technicians in attendance will receive gold-standard training to equip them with skills to prepare RVs for customer delivery.”

Training will cover systems including propane, appliances, generators, body, chassis, and more. Fee is $200 per person and includes lunch each day.

The RV Technical Basics session presented by RVTI is scheduled for Saturday, February 8, 2025. The one-day instruction provides attendees skills to help them assist customers experiencing technical difficulties at their parks and get them safely on the road. Instruction includes (but is not limited to) LP tests, electrical boards, freshwater system inspections, air conditioning, battery inspection, expandable rooms, and more. Fee is $60 per person and includes training, lunch, snack breaks and a park tour.

According to Witting, “Both training sessions are valuable for any woman or man who is interested in a career as an RV technician or looking to enhance their technical RV skills for quality customer service at their parks.”

Attendees for the pre-conference training sessions can book lodging at the conference host hotel (details below) or inquire with Ocean Lakes Family Campground about RV sites/lodging options at www.oceanlakes.com.
