Location | The Piedmont is the area lying between the Atlantic Ocean and the Appalachian Mountains. The Triad is named for the three largest cities in the region: Greensboro, Winston-Salem, and High Point.
Weather | Summers are warm and muggy, the winters are very cold and snowy, and it is partly cloudy year-round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 31°F to 87°F and is rarely below 18°F or above 94°F. Warm-weather activities are from mid-May to late June and from mid-August to early October.
Tourism - What to Expect | The Piedmont region experiences moderate to high traffic year-round with summertime seeing a larger number of visitors. There are different reasons to visit during each season - Golf, wineries, breweries, outdoor activities, festivals, concerts, etc.
